Grand Canyon Helicopter Tours Explained
Updated October 18, 2026 · 5 min read
Flight routes, landing tours and what to expect before you fly over the canyon.
Types of flights
From Las Vegas, long-range flights travel over Lake Mead and Hoover Dam to Grand Canyon West, often with a landing near the Colorado River. From Tusayan near the South Rim, shorter flights cross the canyon toward the North Rim and the Dragon Corridor, the widest and deepest part of the canyon.
What to know before you fly
Expect weight limits and seating based on balance, small personal-item allowances, and possible weather cancellations. Wear dark clothing to reduce window reflections in photos.
